Vancouver Community Leadership Institute (VCLI)
The VCLI program is a transformative fellowship for emerging leaders who are dedicated to promoting racial and social justice in their communities. Launched in 2022, in partnership with Puget Sound Sage, VCLI is a six-month long program designed to recruit, train, and support emerging leaders of color on how to serve on municipal boards and commissions
Participants receive extensive training in local government processes, advocacy, storytelling, and communication skills, focusing on issues like housing, land use, transit, climate, and economic development. The program not only educates but also supports graduates in getting appointed to strategic municipal boards and commissions, empowering them to advance a racial equity agenda at the government level.
